azygos vein การใช้
- The azygos vein transports deoxygenated blood from the posterior walls of the thorax and abdomen into the superior vena cava vein.
- To the right is the azygos veins and thoracic duct, and to the left is the left pleura and lung.
- A tear-drop shaped density noted at the bottom of the fold ( Green arrow ) is the azygos vein.
- This " arch of the azygos vein " ( " arcus venae azygos " ) is an important anatomic landmark.
- The azygos vein arches over it from behind; and the right pulmonary artery lies at first below and then in front of it.
- The root of the right lung lies behind the superior vena cava and part of the right atrium, and below the azygos vein.
- This fibrous arch forms the anterior aspect of the aortic hiatus, through which the aorta, thoracic duct, and azygos vein pass.
- The "'azygos vein "'is a vein running up the side of the thoracic vertebral column draining itself towards the superior vena cava.
- It is worth noting that the lymphatic system does eventually drain into the systemic venous system via the azygos vein, and therefore these metastatic cells can eventually spread through the haematogenous route.
- The radiate ligament is in relation, in front, with the thoracic ganglia of the sympathetic trunk, the pleura, and, on the right side, with the azygos vein; behind, with the interarticular ligament and synovial membranes.
- It continues ascending on the left side of the vertebral column, and around the level of the ninth thoracic vertebra, it passes rightward across the column, behind the aorta, esophagus, and thoracic duct, to end in the azygos vein.
- Above the hilum of the lung is an arched groove for the azygos vein, and above this is a wide groove for the superior vena cava and right innominate vein; behind this, and close to the top of the lung is a groove for the innominate artery.
- The right aortic intercostals are longer than the left because of the position of the aorta on the left side of the vertebral column; they pass across the bodies of the vertebrae behind the esophagus, thoracic duct, and azygos vein, and are covered by the right lung and pleura.
- On the right side it is in relation above with the azygos vein, cisterna chyli, thoracic duct, and the right crus of the diaphragm the last separating it from the upper part of the inferior vena cava, and from the right celiac ganglion; the inferior vena cava is in contact with the aorta below.
